Our Distribution centre serves a multitude of stores across East and West Sussex and our retail operation is growing rapidly to support the Trust’s vision to provide the best possible care to those living with life limiting illnesses within our community.
The role of Distribution Centre Assistant is subject to a degree of flexibility, but will involve organising and sorting deliveries in the distribution centre as well as going out on the delivery/collection routes. There will be some heavy lifting and carrying involved as the successful candidate will be handling and moving deliveries including furniture and other donated items.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a friendly individual with exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail and a positive can-do attitude, to help support our operations in a fun, faced paced environment where everyone (employee or volunteer) works as a team. Ideally, the successful candidate will have some previous experience of working in retail but this is not essential.
Health and safety is of paramount importance in this role and applicants will need the ability to follow instructions and be motivated to work on their own initiative as well as possess the physical ability to lift heavy and/or bulky items.
A full, clean driving licence to include at least Category B is desirable and the ability to co-drive when needed would be an advantage.
What do we provide?
Please note that offers of employment are subject to satisfactory results from pre-employment checks (right to work, references, Occupational Health, DVLA).
