Job Description

As our Finance Director, you will play a vital role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of our organization. You will oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and compliance. Your strategic insights and leadership will drive financial decision-making, enabling us to continue delivering exceptional care to our community. 

 The Finance Director will: 

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support organizational goals and objectives. 
  • Manage budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic priorities. 
  • Monitor financial performance and analyse variances, providing actionable insights to senior leadership. 
  • Oversee financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements. 
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimise revenue generation and cost efficiency. 
  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive income generation strategy, encompassing fundraising and retail operations, to support the hospice’s mission and financial sustainability. 
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Who are we looking for?

Our ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent and hold a professional accountancy qualification- such as ACA/ACCA/CIMA. They will have proven experience in financial leadership roles, with strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting processes, and regulatory compliance. 

 They will have thorough understanding of Income Generation activities within a charitable organisation and excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data into strategic recommendations and influence decision-making.
