Job Description

Our retail shops raise awareness of our services and generate vital funds enabling us to continue to support our local community. A Flexible Retail Assistant Manager is pivotal to the success of our retail operations. They put our beneficiaries at the centre of everything they do, sell good quality pre-loved items at reasonable prices, and play a significant role in the local sustainability agenda.

Our Flexible Retail Assistant Manager will work flexibly across our Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath, Hove, Lewes, Lindfield and Uckfield retail shops.

In this role you will:

  • use your expert selling skills to maximise profit and foster a positive customer-focused retail experience
  • use your visual merchandising talents to ensure the shop is well stocked and organised
  • supervise a team of dedicated volunteers
  • process and generate stock
  • deliver excellent customer service

Whether or not you have a commercial or charity retail background, as long as you have the enthusiasm, energy and the drive to ensure our customers and donors receive a great customer experience, we are interested in hearing from you!

In order to develop, maintain and nurture sustainable key working relationships with customers, fellow employees and volunteers, our ideal Flexible Retail Assistant Manager will be self-motivated and resilient with a positive and proactive outlook but also have the aptitude to merchandise the shop floor to maximise sales creatively and achieve income targets.
