Kitchen Assistant

Job Description
The Kitchen Assistants support the Lead Cook and Cooks by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, whilst delivering excellent customer service to our patients and those close to them, our Living Well Centre attendees, employees, volunteers. They clean all areas of the kitchen, including washing up dishes and kitchen equipment, and assist the Cooks with basic food preparation.

Our Kitchen Assistants must be able to work alongside the catering team in maintaining a clean and safe working environment and be a part of the wider hospice team by showing compassion towards all catering service users.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have prior experience of working in a catering environment, but training will be provided so a willingness to learn is essential. It’s essential for our Kitchen Assistants to have an understanding of basic food health & safety as well as excellent communication skills.
