Who we are looking for

Could you be our ambassador in the community? The hospice is an important part of the local neighbourhood and now our fundraising team needs an enthusiastic and motivated Community Champion to build on the part we play. We are looking for someone who loves their local community and can help us to reach further to raise awareness of the work we do, whilst raising vital funds. 

As community champion you will be creating all sorts of fundraising events, with the chance to build relationships with both corporate and individual supporters. You will be our local representative with an eye on what is happening locally, looking for opportunities to engage. By strengthening our links with the local community, you will play a vital role in raising much needed funds for the hospice. 

Ideally you will have:

  • A track record in planning events and managing on-day logistics.  
  • Exceptional organisational skills, with experience of managing multiple tasks and prioritising effectively.  
  • Experience of managing budgets, exceeding targets, and strong marketing skills.
  • Experience in achieving fundraising targets, ideally in community fundraising.  
  • A good communicator with the ability to build relationships with a variety of people.  
  • Excellent interpersonal and team working skills, with an ability to work independently and seize opportunities.  

Details

  • £25,405 starting salary pro rata (Band 5 £25,405 – £31,224 pa through performance related progression)
  • Permanent, Part Time
  • 22.5 hours per week worked over 3 days (flexibility to choose days of work between Monday – Friday)
  • Hybrid working available – working from home and at the Hospice
  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends depending on fundraising needs
  • Rural Location (North Chailey BN8 4ED) own transport essential, no public transport
  • Enhanced DBS
