Open Gardens is truly a community event, and we are deeply grateful to those who share their beautiful spaces, as well as to everyone who visits.

Thanks to your support, we can continue to provide essential care for people in our community living with life-limiting illnesses.

Special Event at the Hospice

We are delighted to welcome award-winning garden designer Juliet Sargeant to the hospice for a special talk:

‘Lessons in Drought-Tolerant Planting from Disney’s Lion King Garden’

In 2024, Juliet designed a stunning garden for the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show, celebrating 25 years of Disney’s The Lion King theatre show. With vibrant colours and striking planting, she captured the essence of the African savanna—while using plants perfectly suited to  an English garden, particularly as we adapt to a changing climate.

During this talk, Juliet will share insights into how garden designers are embracing drought-tolerant plants and offer practical advice on soil preparation and future-proofing your garden against climate challenges.
