1 in 4 of St Peter & St James Hospice’s patients are cared for through gifts in Wills
This helps to provide compassionate care to those with life-limiting illnesses and their carers, family and friends across Mid Sussex.
Why should you leave a gift in your Will to St Peter & St James Hospice?
There are lots of reasons why people choose to leave us a gift in their Will. You may have a family member or friend who received care from us or you may simply wish to support your local hospice or your community. However you come to your decision, your kindness and consideration for others is something we cherish, we simply could not continue our vital work without your support.
How can I leave a gift in my Will?
We recommend you seek professional advice when making or amending your Will – a solicitor can help you with this. Your solicitor will make sure your wishes are clear and that the correct wording is used. They can also advise whether your loved ones could benefit from a reduced Inheritance Tax Rate, by leaving a set percentage of your estate to charity.
If you decide to leave us a gift in your Will, you will need to include the following information
Legal name: St Peter & St James Charitable Trust
Main address:
St Peter & St James Charitable Trust
North Common Road
North Chailey
Lewes
BN8 4ED
Our registered charity number: 1056114

Make a Will Month
We are very fortunate to have the support of local solicitors for #MakeAWillMonth who generously agree to offer a limited number of Will writing appointments free of charge, with a suggested donation to St Peter & St James Hospice. Our Make a Will Month takes place in April and appointments can now be booked directly with our participating solicitors. Our recommended donation amounts are £250 for a single Will and £350 for a joint, or mirror, Will.
If you would like to support the Hospice and make your Will at the same time, please contact the solicitor of your choice from the list below and request an appointment. Please be aware that the number of appointments is limited so to avoid disappointment we recommend that you contact the solicitors as soon as possible.

Legacy Questionnaire
Legacy giving has traditionally been our single greatest source of income, helping us to reach more people and provide quality care.
To help us understand the decline in legacy giving and anticipate the future level of giving we are asking our valued supporters to complete the short questionnaire.
