Trusts and charitable foundations
Grants from charitable trusts are a very important source of income for our hospice and make such a difference.
Many trusts fund us on a regular basis and we are very grateful for this. The support we receive not only helps with our financial planning but demonstrates confidence in our hospice to deliver expert and compassionate services to our patients and their families. This can help us leverage support from other donors too.
We keep in regular contact with our trust donors so they know how their grant has been spent and what it has helped us to achieve. We’re always proud and delighted to host visits for trustees and grants managers.
We work with trusts of all sizes and have good relationships with small local trusts and larger national trusts, with grants ranging from £100 to £20,000+. We receive grants for running costs, salaries and capital items. Examples of grants we’ve received in the last year include:
£100 towards patient transport costs
£1,000 towards our Sanctuary Coordinator’s salary
£13,500 towards hospice running costs
£3,000 to help refurbish our patient lounge
£20,000 to install a new nurse call system
£15,000 towards the salary of one of our nurses
