Elf Fun 2026

Take on a festive challenge to make a difference

We’re inviting schools, nurseries, youth groups, sports teams and children’s organisations to have some Elf Fun for St Peter & St James Hospice.

Choose your challenge, gather your team and walk, run, wheel, dance or dash your way around a route of your choice. Every participant can join in at their own pace and in whatever way works for them.

Alongside the festive fun, you’ll be helping us continue providing free, compassionate end of life care to local people and support for their families.

Plan your challenge

Choose a date, location, distance and activity that suits your group.

You can run laps of the school field, dance around the playground to festive music, create an indoor obstacle course or do a sponsored walk, the choice is yours!

Rock your festive headwear

There’s no need to buy something new. Wear an elf hat, Santa hat, Christmas headband or your favourite festive headwear from home.

You could even make your own and award prizes for the most creative designs.

Start your fundraising

Ask family and friends to sponsor your challenge and help raise vital funds for local hospice care.

Once registered, you’ll receive fundraising resources and support from our friendly team to help make your Elf Fun a success.

FAQs

Elf Fun is a sponsored walk or run for childcare settings across our community. You can either do it in your year group or join forces and take it on together.

We have a supply of elf hats and sponsor forms which we can send to you. We will supply artwork and resources for you to send out and display in school and online to promote your Elf Fun activities. We’ll also provide a link for our online giving platform for you to share with your school community. Our lovely volunteers will deliver everything you need before your event, including a certificate and a banner with your fundraising total for photo opportunities. We can also attend the event if you let us know in advance.
What do we have to do?  It’s simple and fun, we promise! Just set a date for your Elf Fun activity and get the children outside to take on a run, walk, dance, or prance around the school grounds or around your local area. You set the distance and the rules!
 All we ask is that you encourage the children to raise as much sponsorship as possible.
Can we ask the children to make a donation instead of asking for sponsorship? Yes, a suggested minimum donation of £2 per child. However, we would still ask you to send the sponsor forms home and share your fundraising page, as any amount of money no matter how big or small is much needed by the hospice!
You can still create your own Elf activities. We have an Elf pack which you can download from the website which has lots of ideas. Why not have a Christmas Jumper day and ask your children to get festive and perhaps donate £1? Please also contact us to discuss other ways you can get involved.
All online donations will automatically come to us. For cash donations and sponsor forms, simply call us and at a time that is suitable for you, we’ll collect it. We can also do a thank you assembly and tell the children how their fundraising makes a difference to their community.

Promote your fundraiser on social media, by distributing leaflets and posters, adding your event to local community websites and contacting your local paper or radio station.If you’d like to use our logo, please get in touch, we’d love to help. We can also supply banners, buckets and collection tins if you’d like any at your event.
